The Importance of Movement and Exercise
The importance of movement and exercise cannot be understated for the general health and wellbeing of any animal. If you know anyone that has a senior dog that still acts playful and is healthy when you ask the owner what is their secret, they will always default to the same three things. Regular exercise, good food, and lots of love. We can’t discount the love but the regular exercise and the food is very important.
Some of the challenges people are met with when exercising are as follows:
- Tendency to get hurt
- Difficulty accomplishing goals. This can be physique, postural correction, or pain reduction.
- Don’t know how to begin or what do to
- Need guidance on proper form and an exercise program
The most important point to understand when developing an exercise routine is to accept that exercise should be a lifelong commitment. Animals require regular movement to be healthy. Humans are not an exception to this rule. When we are young, we care more about looking good and sometimes not being in pain. As we get older, we care more about being mobile and definitely not being in pain. You can have it all if you choose to. It just depends upon how much time you are willing to dedicate to your health and wellbeing.
